The car had a major service by citroen just a couple of weeks ago, filled it up this morning from sainsbury's full tank fill up 45 litres. It then drove to work for 40 minutes no problem. Two or more people are needed to start your C4 Grand Picasso with a dead battery. This method only works in manual transmission cars. One person will push the car while you will sit in the driver’s seat. Turn the ignition key to start your car. Put your car in second gear and fully press the clutch pedal.
Did a bit of investigating and suspected that the push pin on the bonnet switch wasn't being deprerssed far enough. (Far enought to break circuiot but not reliably). The switch is very sensitive and only requires light pressure to break circuit. The switch does not appear to be adjustable for height.

I am now on my 3rd one. What I think happens is that the relay coils protection circuit is destroyed by the back emf from the coil and then the relay does not switch over which discharges the battery. The actual relay is fine or at least it was on the one I cut open. Diagnostics should throw up the fault code for a non working relay on it.
