Note 2: don't forget to specify squashfs in your root disk's /etc/fstab or startup scripts when mounting the /usr file system. Insert a root disk in your 3.5" floppy drive (I assume you have a lilo or grub on it, and, thus, a file system exists on this floppy, and the root file system will reside under the /boot directory of this file system):It contains anything that was written to the router after installation, e.g. changed configuration files, additional packages installed with opkg, etc. It is formated with JFFS2. The process consists of unpacking the SquashFS data file containing the live OS's root filesystem, chrooting into the extracted filesystem, making your modifications, exiting the chroot, repacking the SquashFS file, and then regenerating the ISO image. Re: Convert .IMG files to SquashFS .IMG files. I believe you would need to extract the original .img file, then re compress it using sqashfs to obtain what your needing - short answer you probably won't be able to with what you've got. Begging does not help, all responders here are Volunteers..
For now i have copied the grub.cfg file from /boot/grub[..] of my server and it's working like the default grub loader from all the linux distros. To check it how it works i set up a generic system on Virtualbox to find out what's wrong. Now i use option l) for PXE Boot. The Grub loader appears, everything is fine, not modified yet.
